You’ve Been Hacked by Ransomware. Here’s What To Do Next

It looks like most Australians aren’t among the 200,000 victims of the WannaCry ransomware attack, but the Australian Government is warning that this “is not game over” in the battle with hackers.

Associate Professor Mark Gregory from RMIT University agrees, and says it’s impossible to be completely protected from the next attack.

“You can take all the precautions in the world, but you still might get hit by one of these attacks,” he said.

Breach at DocuSign Led to Targeted Email Malware Campaign

DocuSign, a major provider of electronic signature technology, acknowledged today that a series of recent malware phishing attacks targeting its customers and users was the result of a data breach at one of its computer systems. The company stresses that the data stolen was limited to customer and user email addresses, but the incident is especially dangerous because it allows attackers to target users who may already be expecting to click on links in emails from DocuSign.Continue Reading…

If you thought having your smart, internet-connected TV hacked was bad, wait until a production line of big robots gets hacked.  The software that runs internet-connected industrial robots is outdated and vulnerable to hacking, according to a new report from cybersecurity firm Trend Micro and the Politecnico de Milano.
