What’s the Speed Limit Here?
Have you driven through a town, wondering what the speed limit is, but you don’t see a sign anywhere? While you are using Google Maps on your iOS or Android, on the lower left side of the app the speed limit of the road on are navigating on will be displayed. No more guessing to maintain the flow of traffic!
Slow Down! Speed Trap Ahead
Google Maps also added a Speed Trap feature designated with a small camera icon. With this feature, drivers can alert other drivers. Google Maps provides an audio warning if someone’s approaching a speed trap.
Google & Waze
Back in 2013, Google acquired the app, Waze, for $1 billion to incorporate this ability among others. After five years, some of Waze features are finally being included to Google Maps.

This is a staged rollout and will reach to all users, starting this week. Speed limits will show for users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Denmark as well. Now, Speed cameras will post for users in the UK, U.S., Australia, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, and Indonesia, while speed limits will post throughout the U.S., UK, and Denmark.
Stay safe while driving out there! There is no reason to neglect the speed limit now, along with speed trap warnings alerting users when police are monitoring the area.
